Your new favourite lunchbox snack! Such a delicious and quick snack to make
Ingredients
-
1 Sheet of Puff pastry
-
1 pack of tomato paste approx. 50g
-
¼ Tsp of Italian Herbs
-
A dash of garlic powder & onion powder
-
Grated Mozzarella
-
Sesame Seeds for the top
Directions
- Preheat your oven to 180C & Get your sheet of puff pastry our to sit for a few of minutes to thaw
Mix your tomato paste with your herbs
Spread it all over the pastry I left a little gap at the end on one side but it doesn’t matter if you don’t
Then grate your cheese on top only on Half the pastry though I use Mozzarella but you can use what you like, Mozzarella just melts well and without being too oily
Fold the non-cheese side over and then slice into about 1cm thick pieces from the folded edge down
Twist your pieces about 2–3 times and pop them on your baking tray with baking paper. Push the ends a little into the baking paper so it sticks while it cooks.
Cover the tops with a Egg wash and my fav hack to add sesame seeds, I really think this makes them just that bit more delicious but you can skip if you want to
Bake away in the oven for about 20 mins until they are puffy and golden brown
Enjoy hot or cold 👌👌

Recipe Note
- You can use grated cheddar or tasty for this as well
- If you have kids that prefer no herbs you can leave them out as well
- These are great for the freezer too you can either freeze them raw and bake them up the day you are popping them into the lunchboxes or you can bake them and freeze them cooked, they should last stored in an airtight container for 3 months
- Tip for freezing pop them onto a lined flat tray and pop into the freezer for about 15-20mins and then pop into your container so they don't stick too much
